ATI Technologies announced today that it has entered into a technology development agreement with Nintendo. Under the agreement, ATI and Nintendo are developing technologies for use in Nintendo products. No other details regarding the nature of this agreement were made available. However, as recently as last week, Dave Rolston, ATI's VP of Engineering, stated  that ATI was in "ongoing discussions" with Nintendo regarding the development of hardware for GameCube's successor. 

David Orton, ATI's President and Chief Operating Officer, added, "ATI has had an excellent relationship with Nintendo for many years. We are pleased to enter into this major technology development agreement with Nintendo." ATI Technologies was the company responsible for designing the Flipper, GameCube's core graphics processor.

ATI Announces Technology Development Agreement with Nintendo

MARKHAM, Ontario – ATI Technologies, a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative 3D graphics and digital media silicon solutions, announced today that it has entered into a technology development agreement with Nintendo Co.
