Nintendo sold through 8,500 GameCubes in Japan this week, a significant decline from the 18,700 sold last week when Nintendo lowered GameCube's MSRP by 20% to ¥19,800. A lack of any significant new releases on GameCube negatively impacted sales. Animal Forest + was the best-selling title this week ranking 19th on software sales charts.

Sales of PlayStation 2 remained down from the system's usual weekly average at 47,900 this week. Xbox sales were unchanged from last week. Meanwhile, Game Boy Advance was the only system with improved sales week over week, moving 31,500 units.
